Our Goal
Egura Project is a global non-profit Initiative of Luis Elguezabal Aristizabal Foundation (LEA) looking to facilitate access to water and energy at tropical and subtropical latitudes of our planet with the use of Egura Plants; an Egura Plant is a new approach putting together well known technological principles in smart and easy conjunction of technologies and scientific knowledge’s with the principal role of thermosolar devices and secondly photovoltaic and wind power technologies, to use mainly the seawater, but also wastewater, even polluted water from rivers and aquifers, using the sunlight to produce potable and/or irrigation water and energy through a battery of solar distillers, solar boilers and steam turbines in a linear system. Egura should be a better solution, easy water and energy for a well-known problem, scarcity of water and energy in the tropical and subtropical world.

In 1996 when an Egura like flash idea crossed our minds
We were looking at the semidesert Araya Peninsula in Sucre, Venezuela; driving by the southern coast road around Cariaco Gulf and talking about how to get a greener Araya, a less thirsty people, a more independent society: we thought first into ‘injecting’ seawater to the Earth Cortex as the well known principle of ‘more meters down the ground more Celsius degrees in temperature, so we could boil seawater underground and recover steam on surface terrain to harvest pressure (energy) and re condense water vapor to get freshwater…

This Egura Business Division is created to fund the Egura Cooperation Trials above!

Sometimes, the more complex problems can have simple solutions. For example, in the most populated areas of developing countries, along riverbanks and sea coasts, there is a lot of energy poverty or a lot of water poverty, including both at the same time.
How to provide these 2 vital resources in these societies for full human development? And how to do it without wasting aquifers or logging entire forests, without environmental impact?
With the bold union of well-known technologies and improving it, such as photovoltaic, wind and above all the thermosolar. We will get water and electricity from the sea and the sun.
